Dont Focus on coverage??

Defensive Pass Coverage is not the part of the defense that makes playing quarterback difficult.
Hear me out.
Imagine.
You are at the 50 yard line,
2 x 2 Set
Gun.
Your opponent has no defensive lineman or linebackers, just 4 Secondary defenders who, on every snap, must back pedal 4 times before they can charge forward.
How easy would it be to run on and complete passes against this 4 Shell?
All day, right?
(notice the defensive coverage they play doesn't matter)
Nearly every defensive structure has 3 levels. It's the 1st two levels (or the "primary" part) of a defense that a quarterback must understand to be consistently effective..

And as they say,
"It starts up front!
The alignment of the defensive linemen determines, the alignment of the linebackers which dictates the coverage.
Defensive Fronts and Pass Coverages fit together.
If you are a QB who has been paying SEMI attention to the things you hear often like 2i , 4i, Odd Front, Even Front etc...
You need to change that.
Ask questions.
Get things explained to you.
Study.
Learn.
It is important.
Don't JUST focus Pass Coverage . You need to understand how it integrates with the other 2 levels of the defense.
When you identify 1 high or 2 high Safeties as you work your way down to the box, you want to be able to understand the whole picture. Only then, will you consistently understand the space to attack or where you have an offensive advantage.
Remember playing quarterback is more than throwing the football,
Get to work.
Get Better.
